Old Newspaper Ad to get foreign passports for Bedoon

Few days ago, Mohammed Al-Whaib from the Central Agency announced the establishment of an office for the Bedoon who want to show their original passports, indicating that Bedoon are hiding their passports to get benefits and call for naturalization. The deal is to put those who reveal their passports under the 24 article residency law which allows one to sponsor oneself and the authorities will let them stay for five years without paying for residency. Afterwards, they are expected to get a working contract to be sponsored and allowed to stay. Plus, those people will get food supplies like citizens.

The interior ministry claimed that 28 Iraqis and 32 Saudis have applied already to this office with their passports. 7 years ago, the government played a similar game by denying passports and allowing illegal offices to sell passports to the Bedoon so they would become residents and at a certain point lose their residency and get deported. Those passports were mostly Albanian, Ethiopian, Dominican, Bolivian and others. The step after that one was to threaten Bedoon soldiers that they will lose their jobs if they don’t get other passports; fake or real.

Once again, the Central Agency practices its old games and does not fulfill promises delivered over decades to naturalize tens of thousands who were referred to as ‘legible’ for citizenship according to head of Central Agency Saleh Al-Fidhala, last December, under the pressure of protests.
