Justice Ministry allows Bedoon to go to court without the Agency’s permission

Regularly, Bedoon of Kuwait needed permissions from the Central Agency of Illegal Residents to be able to appoint lawyers to defend them in courts. The ministry of Justice, according to Al-Watan newspaper, has issued a decision to allow Bedoon to get lawyers without the agency’s permission. This is only in certain cases and it surely does not mean that one can take his citizenship case to the court to get his rights, since the authorities claim that the court has no right to decide on the issues of citizenship and that it is solely decided by the interior ministry with the approval of the Amir himself. The parliament was supposed to discuss a law that allows courts to decide about citizenship issues, but sessions haven’t been taking place on regular basis lately.
