Bedoon soldiers fired for forged passports

In a recent statement, activist Nawaf Al-Bader called on the minister of defense to renew the contracts of Bedoon soldiers who have been serving the army for over 30 years. Al-Bader said the soldiers were pressured in 2000 to get foreign passports if they are interested in keeping their jobs. Right now, the ministry of defense stated that the soldiers who have forged passports will not have their contracts renewed even though they were not aware that their passports were forged (which are mostly Syrian, Somali, Eritrean, and Yemeni). The issue of the Bedoon who were forced to buy foreign passports, has been discussed widely lately. Al-Fidhala stated that the foreign ministry is working on coordinating with other states to know the identities of  those passports holders.
