Bedoon students asked to leave graduation ceremony

Several Bedoon students have topped Kuwait’s highschool lists with their high grades. In the graduation ceremony organized by the ministry of education for the top graduates,¬†Five Bedoon girls were asked to leave the stage as they are stateless. The story made a fuss on twitter and was surely taken as a discriminatory act that did not used to happen previously. In response, a group of Kuwaiti and Bedoon activists called “group 29” stated earlier today that they will be honoring those girls in a special ceremony for them and that they are working on raising money for them to be able to get their higher education in Kuwait’s private universities.
