Bedoon employees protest for their salaries

On Friday the 17th of August, tens of employees of “Kuwait Ports Authority” have protested for their salaries. The majority of those protesting were of the Bedoon and few were Gulf citizens who have suffered from the same problem in the past months. The employees showed their objection to the way the establishment keeps delaying their salaries, pay them in cash, and refuse to pay them regularly through their bank accounts. The establishment has been criticized throughout this year for letting go of Bedoon employees for no reasons and for practicing such acts intentionally before firing another group of Bedoon.

On another side, the ministry of defense is still firing Bedoon soldiers who have been working for the army for over 27 years. The ministry has forced those soldiers to get foreign passports years ago by giving them money and informing them that without foreign passports they will lost their jobs.
